If you are not familiar with Charleston and the surrounding areas, the best place to begin your search is by orienting yourself with the Area Map. The Charleston area is comprised of a diverse collection of towns and communities offering a variety of options to fit the needs and price point of most any buyer. Whether you are relocating to the area, looking for a starter home or a second home, interested in an investment property, need to complete a 1031 Exchange or you're just curious about real estate in our area, you'll find it all just a few clicks away. Many of you have also asked about foreclosers, short sale or bank owned properties. There are a number of terrific deals in Charleston and on the islands, if you know where to look and what to expect when making an offer to purchase one of these properties.

Charleston
Charleston's history dates back to the earliest days of settlement in America which began on the Charleston peninsula around 1670. The original city was surrounded by a high wall to protect the settlers from pirates and other unwanted invaders. Over the years the area grew concentrically, up the peninsula and then over the Ashley River to the west and the Cooper and Wando Rivers to the north and east. Just as in the antebellum days, most of our communities are on or very near the harbor, rivers, tidal creeks or tributaries of the major rivers surrounding Charleston.

Today, many of the original homes remain on the peninsula, as do the cobblestone streets, historic landmarks and beautiful gardens. And the areas surrounding Charleston have grown into their own vibrant communities, ranging from award winning neighborhoods, and luxury ocean front resorts, to quiet residences and old-world plantations. All within minutes of the cuisine, history, culture, art and architecture of Charleston.

Isle of Palms
The Isle of Palms is located about 15 minutes north of Charleston. You'll know you've arrived at the beach as you crest the top of the Isle of Palms Connector and view the expanse of crystal blue ocean before you. This relatively small island is only seven miles long and one quarter mile wide. Known for it's beautiful white sand beaches, the IOP, as the locals call it, is comprised of a variety of properties ranging from classic beach bungalows to magnificent new ocean front homes and condos.

Wild Dunes
Located on the northern tip of the island you will find the private gated community of Wild Dunes. Here you can experience miles of bike trails, fantastic golf, tennis, pools, great restaurants and of course beaches. Wild Dunes is has a wide assortment of properties. Looking for a one bedroom ocean front condo to use as an investment or rental? Or maybe a 5 bedroom custom luxury home on the 18th fairway of the Links Golf Course? Wild Dunes has it all! Although the courses are public all of the amenities can be accessed through Wild Dunes Resort by joining the Club.
